Paljay Avenue

Named in 1946 on a tract owned by Charles William (1900-1965) and Patricia Marie (1902-1953) Lawrence. Since “Paljay” is not a real name, my educated guess is that it’s wordplay. The Lawrences had two children: Patricia Ann (1935-1998) and John Charles (1937-?). If you’ll humor me, “Pal-” may come from the younger Patricia’s three initials (P.A.L.) and “-jay” from John’s first (as in the phonetic pronunciation of “J” – for what it’s worth, he went by Jonnie, not Jay.) I should add that Pal Joey was a popular stage musical at the time, so Paljay could have also been a pun.
