The former Carson Place was renamed in January 2015 for local politician Isadore Hall III (1971-), who had recently been elected to the State Senate. Hall was born and raised in Compton. The youngest of six kids, he got into politics early on, running unsuccessfully for treasurer of Lynwood at the tender age of nineteen. He was elected to the Compton Unified School District Board of Trustees in 2001; two years later, he was elected to Compton City Council and served until 2008, when he was elected to the State Assembly. After six years as an assemblyman, Hall moved on to the State Senate, but he lost his reelection bid in 2016. He was then appointed to the CA Agricultural Labor Relations Board.
