This street’s namesake is a mystery. It was born in 1903 on the Stoneham tract, owned by George T. Stoneham, William O. Churchill, and Roger S. Page (see Sunland’s Sherman Grove Ave. for some dirt on his dad). None of these guys had any known relatives or business associates named Raymond. It’s possible that they were inspired by the popular Raymond Hotel in South Pasadena (see that city’s Raymond Ave.) but that’s just conjecture on my part.
