Abisko Drive

The only realistic source for this street name is Abisko, Sweden, a village and national park in the very northern part of that country. If the person who named Abisko Drive hailed from that region then we’d have our answer. But the Michigan-born, Culver City-raised subdivider Robert G. Sebring, who laid out this pair of cul-de-sacs in 1964, had no known ties to northern Sweden. Nor did mortgagees Jesus and Juanita Aguinaga, as you might guess from their names. (They were both born in Mexico.) Unless “Abisko” is some sort of indecipherable wordplay, I’ve got no other ideas here.
