Shoredale Avenue

You might think it’s a nod to the “shore” of the Los Angeles River – which is technically a bank – but in fact Toronto-born brothers Egerton and Allan Shore sneaked their own surname into this street while laying out the Parkdale Gardens tract here in 1922-1923. Riverdale and Meadowvale avenues also originated on this tract, so there was clearly a “dale”/”vale” theme going on. See WeHo’s Shoreham Drive for more on the Shores.
