Curtis and King Road

While I’ve been able to trace the origins of other “buddy roads” like Orr and Day and Stewart and Gray, Curtis and King remains a stumper. The earliest mention I found was in a July 1st, 1931 newspaper article, which called it King and Curtis Road. (This was when Jack Branscomb owned a ranch nearby.) It was officially named Curtis and King Road in 1934. To add to the confusion, from 1898 until 1931 the street was identified as “the Newton and Washburn Road”!
