A member of the L.A. County Street Naming Committee claimed in a 1978 Los Angeles Times interview that a practical joker colleague of his had christened this cul-de-sac “South Exa Court” (in 1966) because its abbreviation would be S. Exa Ct. – “sex act”, get it? The cardinal direction has since been excised from the name, leaving us with a more innocuous pun on “exact”.
