Named for Linda Lelei Crank (b. 1961) by her father Lewis, a developer with a colorful past (see Cranks Road). After divorcing his first wife Esther (see Esterina Way), Lewis Crank married a Tongan woman named Alungalelei Fifita (1937-?) in 1960. Linda Way was christened the following year, when its namesake was just an infant; she would grow up on this cul-de-sac. Linda Crank began performing in Polynesian-themed music and dance events at an early age and sang throughout the 1970s. She was a vocalist for a short-lived L.A. rock band called Mondo Ricketts in 1981, then got married in 1990 and changed her last name.
