Shoredale Avenue

It’s not named for the “shore” of the L.A. River, which is technically a bank anyway. Toronto-born brothers Allan and Egerton Shore lent their surname to this street in late 1922 when they laid out the Parkdale Gardens tract (hence the “dale” in “Shoredale”). Riverdale and Meadowvale avenues also most likely originated on this tract. See WeHo’s Shoreham Drive for more on the Shores.
