Parva Avenue

In Latin, parva is the feminine singular form of parvus, meaning “small”. A sensible name for this street when it was laid out in 1913 as a wee cul-de-sac on a tract co-owned by Griffith Park benefactor Griffith J. Griffith. Fifteen years later, a different group of developers led by realtor C.C. Albright extended Parva Avenue out to meet Woking Way and create a through street. The name remains, if not as apt as before.
