Named for real estate salesman Arthur Thomas Huntley (1875-1945). Huntley Drive was part of the 1922 West Hollywood tract, set up by Martin T. Hildinger (see Sherwood Drive). Huntley, who was Hildinger’s assistant sales manager, obviously liked the tract, as he built himself a home on nearby Westmount Drive and lived there for the rest of his life. A former railroad fireman originally from Lowell, MA, Huntley moved to L.A. around 1920. He and second wife Florence had one son, Arthur Jr. (1923-2005), who flew bombing missions over Europe in World War II.
