Just as Hollywood’s famous Vine Street stands in tribute to Senator Cornelius Cole‘s old vineyards, Alhambra’s modest Vine Street is a remnant of the mighty but short-lived San Gabriel Wine Company, run by James De Barth Shorb (1842-1896).
