Detour Drive

I wish I had a funny story here, but all I can tell you is that this little street was laid out in 1913 and remained anonymous until 1924. The “Detour” name was born out of a city ordinance, which means that someone with the Planning Commission or some other bureaucrat or civil engineer came up with it. I suppose it was decided that an additional street name was required in these hills as Cheremoya Avenue and Graciosa Drive are disorienting enough on their own, with their various twists and offshoots. And this byway is indeed a kind of detour between those two streets.
