Everyone who takes the Sunset Boulevard exit off the southbound 405 winds up on Church Lane, if only for a block. So where’s the church? It’s down the lane, and it’s the Village Church of Westwood. As you might surmise, this Lutheran house of worship originally opened in Westwood Village, back in 1938. It moved to its current digs in 1942, its address officially on Sepulveda Boulevard. The street was rechristened Church Lane in 1959, as the 405 was being finished and that particular portion of Sepulveda was shifted east of the new freeway.
