This one’s easy: Westholme is a portmanteau of “Westwood” and “Holmby”. The street, named in 1923, is indeed between Westwood and Holmby Hills, in a neighborhood nicknamed “Little Holmby”. All that land was once owned by department store mogul Arthur Letts; his son-in-law’s company, the powerful Janss Investment Corp, subdivided it after his death. See Holmby Avenue for more about Letts and the Holmby name.
